Minha Casa Minha Vida

Our largest real estate developments and constructions are within the Government's social housing program Minha Casa Minha Vida. We offer direct investments into Minha Casa Minha Vida projects that provide specific, generous returns. MDMY Investment solely owns the group of companies that undertakes the development, construction and delivery of the social housing projects. We also hold the certification necessary to construct on behalf of and with the funding of Caixa Economica Federal bank.

With an investment of €100,000 or more you can become part of the hugely successful and popular government-backed housing program Minha Casa Minha Vida (My House, My Life) and earn returns fixed through contract of over 20%. Minha Casa Minha Vida revenue is guaranteed by Caixa Economica before construction commences.

The Minha Casa Minha Vida housing program was launched in April 2009 with an ambitious goal of building 3 million homes throughout Brazil. The program gives priority to families with incomes no higher than R$1,600 per month (around three minimum wages), but can include those earning up to ten minimum wages. The Minha Casa Minha Vida program was extended on the 16th of July 2011. The project now has a federal budget of R$125 billion with 60% of the total number of homes allocated to Category 1 of the program.

MDMY Construtora Ltda holds the special GERIC status necessary to work in Category 1 of the Minha Casa Minha Vida program. Our GERIC status and qualification allows us to work in partnership with the Municipalities and Caixa Economica Federal. We hold contracts to construct Category 1 Minha Casa Minha Vida projects across Brazil, making us a leading provider of homes within the program. The GERIC qualification is based upon proven technical ability, experience and the sound financial health of the construction company and its owners.

Already underway are developments to create over 3000 new homes with a value of approximately R$165 million. Each project is located in areas with registered demand. The new communities include the building of new schools, play-centers, clinics and social recreation areas. We work with local communities to ensure that our developments enhance the lives of the people living and working within them. Social responsibility and sustainability are core foundation values of the MDMY Group.

Minha Casa Minha Vida is made possible by the partnerships of the federal union, state and municipal governments and the constructors. The MCMV program is law at the federal level, voted into the legislation by the senate, with resources distributed in accordance to specified criteria via the state owned bank Caixa Economica Federal.

The program is categorised in two distinct ways: the income level of the families, and the financing method used to construct the projects (federal or private). MDMY Construtora Ltda is one of few companies that qualify to work in Category 1 of the program, creating projects and constructing homes for the families who need them most.
